In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms carry the meanings set out below:
- "We / Us / Our" refers to Rembau Tempo, a horological atelier operating at 62 Jalan Pinang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
- "Client / You" refers to any individual or entity that submits an enquiry, delivers a timepiece for service, or uses our website.
- "Services" refers to the watch servicing, component replacement, and restoration programmes offered by Rembau Tempo as described on our website and intake documentation.
- "Timepiece" refers to any watch, clock, or horological instrument submitted to us for assessment or service.
- "Agreement" refers to the contract formed between us and the Client when a service is confirmed following intake assessment.
- "Website" refers to the site accessible at https://rembautem.club and all associated pages.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website, submitting an enquiry, or delivering a timepiece for service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services or website.
You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are acting on behalf of a third party (for example, submitting a piece owned by another person), you confirm that you have authority to do so.
3. Service Description
Rembau Tempo provides horological servicing and restoration for mechanical and complication timepieces. Our principal service pathways are:
- Movement Care & Service — Full movement disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and regulation.
- Crown & Stem Replacement — Focused service for crown and winding stem assemblies, including gasket renewal and pressure testing.
- Considered Restoration Programme — Extended service for timepieces requiring movement service, case and bracelet restoration, and component sourcing.
All services are performed at our Kuala Lumpur atelier. We do not operate postal service for timepiece intake or return. Pieces must be delivered and collected in person or via an authorised representative.
We reserve the right to decline any service request where we determine the work falls outside our technical competence or where the condition of the timepiece presents an unacceptable risk of damage during service.
4. Intake and Assessment
All timepieces entering our care are subject to a written intake assessment. This assessment documents the current condition of the piece prior to any work commencing. The intake record forms the baseline for all subsequent service decisions.
An intake assessment does not constitute a commitment to proceed with service on either side. We will describe our recommended service pathway and associated pricing following assessment. You are under no obligation to proceed, and we reserve the right to decline service after assessment if the scope falls outside our capabilities.
5. Pricing and Payment
Published service pricing applies to standard work within each pathway. Pricing is denominated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
Should inspection of the movement or case reveal additional component wear requiring renewal beyond the originally agreed scope, we will contact you before proceeding. No additional charges will be applied without your prior approval.
Full payment is due upon collection of the timepiece. We accept cash and major bank transfers. Payment terms are confirmed at the time of intake. We do not offer instalment arrangements unless agreed in writing.
Published prices are subject to revision. The price applicable to your service is the price confirmed at intake, regardless of any subsequent website updates.
6. Client Responsibilities
By submitting a timepiece for service, you confirm that:
- You are the lawful owner of the timepiece or have explicit authority from the owner to submit it for service.
- The timepiece is not subject to any legal dispute, lien, or encumbrance that would affect our ability to service it.
- You will provide accurate information about the piece's history, known issues, and service records where available.
- You will collect the timepiece within 30 days of notification that the service is complete. We reserve the right to charge a storage fee for timepieces uncollected beyond this period.
7. Our Obligations
We will:
- Maintain a written record of your timepiece's condition from intake through to completion.
- Communicate with you before undertaking any work beyond the originally agreed scope.
- Store your timepiece securely throughout the service period.
- Return the timepiece in the condition warranted by the service performed — we do not accept liability for pre-existing undisclosed damage.
- Provide a written condition report on completion of restoration work.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, photographs, and design — is the property of Rembau Tempo and is protected under applicable Malaysian intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or adapt any content from this website without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with the services is limited to the price paid for the specific service that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of use of the timepiece, loss of profit, or diminution in market value arising from the service process.
We are not responsible for damage arising from pre-existing undisclosed conditions, defects that were present prior to intake, or normal wear associated with age and use. Our intake assessment documents the known condition at the time of receipt.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
10. Disclaimers
Services are performed on a best-effort basis. While we apply professional care and industry-standard methods, we make no representation that a service will restore a timepiece to any particular performance level beyond what is technically achievable given the condition of the movement at intake.
Website content is provided for informational purposes only. Descriptions of service scope are indicative and may vary based on the individual timepiece presented.
11. Termination and Cancellation
You may cancel a service at any time before work has commenced, with no charge. Once work has commenced, you may request that service stop at the current stage. In this case, you will be charged for work completed up to the point of cancellation and any components already sourced or installed.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service if we discover undisclosed information that materially affects our ability to perform the work safely and competently.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from our services, we encourage you to contact us directly in the first instance at [email protected] so we can seek to resolve the matter informally.
If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to mediation or, failing that, to the courts of Malaysia. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
13. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms and Conditions, together with any written intake documentation, constitute the entire agreement between us and supersede any prior discussions.
Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right.
Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor in business.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
